Overview

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Member Experience, the Wellness Coordinator will provide leadership, support and oversight of the Health and Wellness Department.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist the Director in planning and implementing health and wellness programs and initiatives.
  2. Create wellness staff schedules and look over the time sheets for accurate timing.
  3. Assist in planning, implementing and facilitation of promotions and special events.
  4. Attend appropriate and required training classes offered by the Foundation YMCA.
  5. Assist Director with maintenance of staff records in accordance with any and all regulatory agencies and the YMCA.
  6. Assist as needed in completing payroll on a bi weekly basis for the Health and Wellness Department.
  7. Promote the “YMCA Story” with all involved in the program.
  8. Maintain safe program areas, including indoor and outdoor areas, YMCA and non-YMCA facilities, and equipment.
  9. Maintain clean centers and help to monitor wellness floor staff.
  10. Follow accident reporting procedures and policies.
  11. Follow systems, practices, and training related to risk management and safety of participants and staff.
  12. Participate as an active member of the Foundation YMCA leadership team, committing to sound decision-making and communication.
  13. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  1. A HS Diploma or GED is required.
  2. Requires training and certifications in YMCA fitness programs, especially YMCA specialist training or equipment.
  3. Requires training, certifications or experience with group exercise, program development, YMCA fitness programs or YMCA specialist training or equipment.
  4. Personal leadership and commitment to health and wellness is important.
  5. Must understand the basic concepts of a non-profit organization, as well as the structure of the YMCA as a partnership of volunteers and staff, and accept a commitment to the
  6. Requires knowledge of computer software application and hardware. Employee must have working knowledge of Windows Office Suite.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  8. Employee must have working knowledge of a Gmail, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  9. Certifications required within the first week of hire: Redwoods Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazardous Communications.
  10. Certifications required within the first 60 days of hire: YMCA approved basic life saving skills such as CPR, First Aid, AED. This position must have the ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
  11. Must be 21 years of age.
  12. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Regularly required to use a computer/smart device.  Must be able to move around the work environment and lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Posted Salary Range

USD $15.00 - USD $18.00 /Hr.
